Early Childhood Assessment Mobile And Reporting Platform
A nonprofit education organization needed to evolve a custom Pre-K assessment platform so teachers could capture classroom observations faster and share progress from parent conversations up through school and district reporting.
The Process Problem
The nonprofit education organization had developed a custom Pre-K assessment tool for early childhood teachers. Teachers used the platform to observe and score behaviors of 3- and 4-year-olds in the classroom.
The application was already purpose-built, but classroom data capture needed to become faster and more natural during the school day. Teachers needed an easier way to add photos, record observations, and keep assessment evidence moving without interrupting the classroom flow.
What We Took Over
Plaidypus took over the custom application from another software company and continued developing the platform around the assessment process.
That meant preserving the core assessment model while improving the daily classroom workflow and extending the system into places where teachers needed faster tools.
What We Added
The platform now includes iOS and Android apps that help teachers quickly add classroom photos and enter observations throughout the day.
On the back end of the classroom data collection process, teachers can share results and next steps with parents. Reports also roll up to schools and districts, expanding visibility across the broader program.
Why It Mattered
The project helped connect classroom observation to parent communication and program-level visibility.
Teachers gained faster tools for capturing what they saw in the classroom. Parents gained clearer next steps. Schools and districts gained a better view of assessment activity across classrooms and programs.
