Trace Tree was developed for the Powerwerks suite of software used by the aviation industry to assist with the purchase and sale of Limited Lifecycle Parts (LLPs) for jet turbine engines. These parts require full trace documents (like a CarFax for automobiles) in order to determine value and ultimately their ability to be resold.
Previously, the client put together these trace packets on paper and the review process was cumbersome for the airlines. They also relied on human recognition of missing documents.
The Plaidypus solution allowed the client to digitize all documents, find serial numbers via OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and more importantly, validate that all necessary documents were part of the full trace. In addition, the process for airlines to review and collaboratively look at trace packets has reduced the overall time for airlines to make decisions on these jet turbine llp parts.
